BACDC Recommended for Share Account Grant
On February 20, 2008, the Washington County Commissioners recommended that
the BACDC receive $100,000 from the local share account. This is great news for
the organization as it will go a long way in the restoration of the Burgettstown Train
Station.

Community Day Fun Run Huge Success!
We are pleased to announce that the Community Day Fun Run was a huge success.
The BACDC would like to thank the sponsors of the race and all of the participants.
The turnout was better than expected with over 100 people participating in the race.

BACDC Receives J.C. Penny Award
The BACDC was awarded $500 from J.C. Penny. The award was given for
outstanding community service on behalf of Pam Church (BACDC President).
Race T-Shirt Designs
The Burgettstown Area Community Development Corporation would like to thank
the students at Burgettstown High School for their time in designing our race
t-shirts this year. We were very impressed with the designs submitted.
Train Station Foundation Completed
The Train Station foundation was finished June 11. We are very pleased with the
progress of the train station. Please check back for pictures and construction
updates.
BACDC Meets with Congressman Murphy
On March 20, 2008, Officers of the BACDC met with Congressman Tim Murphy
(R-PA, 18th District) to discuss possible funding opportunities for the Train Station
Project. Congressman Murphy is a fierce proponent of community involvement and
a strong advocate of the Rails to Trails Program.
